Options for your roll film scans - choose the best size for your photo project!
16 bit camera scans
Scanning is our specialty! Colorcraft Lab + Scan was created from the desire to offer not only expert quality film scanning, but the best scans you can get! And that means every frame from every roll of C-41 film we develop will be color corrected and density corrected! B+W scans will be density and contrast corrected to give you a presentation ready scan. We believe that you shoot film for a reason, the film asthetic and the film LOOK! Your image should not have an egregious color cast or extreme density shifts, blown out faces and inky shadows. Your scans will be color corrected to give the most natural, NEUTRAL color balance. This means grey tones will be neutral. Colorcraft will always prioritize skin tones to give you a clean natural look. I often see other photo labs posting images to social media that have noticeable color casts. Green/cyan snow or green skin tones, magenta/red skin tones and blue/cyan casts. You will see the difference with our scans. Chris, your Colorcraft lab technician and lab owner, corrects every roll- bringing 25 years of color printing and scanning experience to your images. You will see the difference!
Want to do your own color and density corrections? We can help! Choose our high resolution DNG RAW scans. Approximately 36MP full frame scans of your negatives or slides saved in DNG format, 16 bit, uncorrected and delivered as "positive scans" - your color and B+W negative film will be delivered as negatives and you can invert and make your final conversions. Great for using Negative Lab Pro, Negmaster, FilmLab App and Smartconvert.
If you prefer world class scans ready to deliver, print or share, we'll do the rest! Choose our high resolution JPEG scans. You can choose from the full resolution 19MP full frame scans, corrected, or a 8MP scan, similar to the size and ratio of a Frontier or Noritsu scan, 3600 x 2400. We offer the 19MP scan delivered as TIFF by request. All corrected scans are delivered as Adobe 1998 + 8bit JPEG. All uncut rolls processed by Colorcraft are scanned using the full frame Nikon D800 at the resolution you request.

Specialty scans, such as 126, 127 or non traditional medium format negatives will be scanned on the Epson V850
Negative is 25 years old and has scratches and damage from use. Even using Digital Ice to mitigate the scratches are still visible
Scanned on the Epson V850 Pro wet mount fluid method. This fluid filled in the scratches and provided a clean scan.
This is a great scanning method for damaged negatives and slides to restore your archived images to their original state.
