Perhaps you are just beginning to experience the magic of analog film photography, or you may be a seasoned professional. The bottom line — you want high quality film developing and extraordinary scans. That’s the mission of my lab. I’ve been a film photographer since I was 16 years old. From the early days of being a staff photographer for my high school newspaper to having the honor of photographing weddings and portraits, I am bringing over 30 years of analog experience and knowledge to crafting your film images.
But being a film photographer alone doesn’t make me an expert. That comes from nearly two decades of working and running day-to-day photo lab operations. I learned to color print alongside highly experienced mentors in 1995. I had the pleasure of working with some of the best and brightest lab technicians, owners, operators and skilled service providers in the Wilmington, NC area. In fact, I am still right here in Wilmington. My goal is to continue that mission of offering expert film developing and serious scans. Analog photography has returned and it’s thriving. Colorcraft Lab + Scan offers the best color and B&W film developing and scanning, right here in Wilmington.
My first time developing film was in 1990. My folks had purchased a Kodak Hobby Pac film developing chemical kit to experiment. It turned out to be an E-6 kit for developing color positives. Talk about jumping in the deep end! I will never forget the feeling of opening that developing tank and pulling out the reel. I had beautiful, vibrant color transparencies. I remember thinking, “I’ll be doing this for the rest of my life.” And the journey continues, 35 years later.
